Ba Den Mountain organizes many large-scale activities to celebrate Buddha's Birthday and the April 30th National Day

Launching Vesak month at Ba Den Mountain, a series of large-scale events and activities will be organized, making this a top historical and spiritual cultural destination in the South this time.

Celebrating the birth of the Buddha, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) and the VBS of Tay Ninh province will organize many sacred ceremonies on the sacred Ba Den Mountain.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of April 26, the ceremony of respectfully inviting the statue of the newborn Buddha and the Buddha procession will be solemnly held at Tay Bo Da Son square. Immediately after the procession, the Great Buddha's Birthday ceremony will be held with sacred ceremonies such as chanting Buddha's name for blessings, saluting the national flag - religious flag, the Buddha's birthday offering ceremony, chanting incense… This is a moment for Buddhists and people to direct their sincere hearts to the Buddha, expressing their gratitude when welcoming the Buddha's birth. Here, the Buddha bathing ceremony is recreated to recreate the miraculous scene when the Buddha was born and for each person to cleanse their body and mind, find purity in their soul right on the sacred mountain.

Within the framework of the Buddha's birthday ceremony, the offering of lights ceremony will be solemnly held for Buddhists and people to entrust their wishes for peace and good luck to the Buddha. Thousands of sparkling lights in the magical night on the “roof of the South” will create a sacred experience on the most important day of the year for Buddhism.

Also at Ba Den Mountain this time, the painting exhibition “Ve Ngo” with 45 paintings on the theme of pagodas by painter Hoang Phong will bring a unique artistic experience. Carrying Buddhist inspiration but very close to the Vietnamese belief culture, “Ve Ngo” conveys a message about wisdom, compassion, enlightenment to seek true happiness. With 45 paintings, art lovers can revisit the very familiar temples and pagodas throughout the country such as Ba Pagoda (Ba Den Mountain), Dau Pagoda (Bac Ninh), Dong Pagoda (Yen Tu), Keo Pagoda (Thai Binh), Huong Pagoda (Hanoi), But Thap Pagoda (Bac Ninh), Ba Kieu Temple, Tay Ho Shrine (Hanoi)…

The exhibition is an activity within the framework of the event Ba Den Mountain welcoming thousands of delegates Vesak 2025 on May 8, 2025. With many meaningful spiritual activities this time such as the ceremony of welcoming the Buddha's relics from India, the ceremony of planting 108 Bodhi trees from Bodh Gaya, the grand ceremony of lighting candles to pray for world peace, Ba Den Mountain is becoming a pilgrimage destination for Buddhists and tourists both domestically and internationally.

 

Flag-Raising Ceremony on the Morning of April 30th

Leading up to the Great Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the Reunification of the country, the sacred flag-raising ceremony will be held on the morning of April 30th atop the highest mountain in Southern Vietnam. Tourists visiting Ba Den Mountain on this occasion will receive shirts, flags, and red-star-yellow stickers to participate in the ceremony and join in the solemn atmosphere of this historic moment for the nation. As the majestic sound of the National Anthem rings out, thousands of Sun World Ba Den Mountain resort staff and tourists will turn their gaze towards the national flag waving atop the mountain, creating a profoundly meaningful and moving experience.

Also during this holiday, art performances showcasing the unique Tay Ninh culture will be continuously presented atop Ba Den Mountain, creating a joyful atmosphere during this great national holiday.

At an altitude of 986m, Ba Den Mountain was once a crucial stronghold in the resistance against the Americans, where many soldiers left their blood and bones. Ba Den Mountain was officially liberated on January 6th, 1975, becoming a significant victory contributing to the historic victory of April 30th, 1975. After 50 years, this mountain is a significant historical site with numerous pagodas, temples, and caves dedicated to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives here, such as Kim Quang Cave, Hang Pagoda, and Son Than Temple. With a rich history of religious beliefs and magnificent cultural and spiritual works, the highest mountain in Southern Vietnam has also become a famous pilgrimage destination for Vietnam and the world.
